Let your Shadows be your Light

Description

The darkness can not exist without the light, just as light does not exist without the dark

--------------------------------

I often see people who create these 'shadows' of themselves, or of certain things they fear. They can be personified as monsters, demons, even just as they are, shadows of ourselves. What these shadows represent can range from anything, weather it be anxiety or even just fears we have. There is one thing these 'darker versions' of ourselves have in common, they're parts of ourselves we fear, that we wish didn't exist.

I see many people wish this kind of darkness would go away, they run from it, or as some people may imply, let it consume them. But I believe that these are not the right things to do.

Perhaps I am being too philosophical, but people seem to forget that the sort of "good" and "evil" of the world, and even of people rely on each other. Take a flashlight and shine it on something, the brighter you make the light, the more apparent and dark the shadow will be. This is how I believe it works, a sort of balance that can't be broken. Which means, when people run from the parts of themselves they don't wish to accept they're not just running from darkness, they are running from light as well for one can not exist without the other.

We as humans should stop running from the parts of themselves, and instead, accept they are there, but learn to make light of them. Weather it be changing your ways or use it to motivate yourself to improve as a person.

Don't ignore your darkness
Or you'll ignore the light too.

WOAH I just stumbled across this and... I think it's probably one of my favorite works of yours... O.O And I agree with what you said about balance; I've noticed stuff like that, too. The universe is weird like that.
What can I say, I'm one for deep thoughts. = p
